Insch is a desirable village in the heart of Aberdeenshire, approximately 40 minutes from Aberdeen. With a population of approximately 3000 there is a thriving community with activities for young and old. It has excellent travel links via a regular bus service as well as being situated on the edge of the main railway from Aberdeen to Inverness. There is also easy access to the A96 which is the main arterial route between Aberdeen and Inverness.

Insch is well served by local amenities, there is a Doctor's Surgery, Post Office, Primary School, Leisure Centre and several shops for day to day conveniences including a craft shop, DIY shop and baker. The town is also served by a couple of cafes, a Pub/restaurant, hairdressers and Insch Golf Club. Secondary Schooling and a larger selection of shops can be found nearby in either Inverurie to the south east or Huntly to the north west.

The Bennachie Range creates a stunning back-drop for the village and is a distinct landmark for miles around. The range provides excellent walking and cycling routes, as do the many woods and forests in the surrounding area. The ancient hill fort of Dunnideer Castle is another prominent landmark in the area as well being a popular walking route, deer are regularly seen grazing nearby and don't seem apprehensive of walkers!
